First Lady's Biography
"The Queen of A Great Leader"
Elect Lady Gerri Rookard is the second born of six children to Elder William and Mt. Mazalee Loyd (both now deceased). During the early years of her life, she was allowed to live with her grandparents to assist them in their home and small family business. After graduating from High School she completed her studies, obtaining an Associates Degree in Secretarial Science from Midlands Technical College and soon married her High School sweetheart, Minister Willie Rookard, and they moved to the upstate as they started a new chapter in their lives. She became a homemaker for several years after the birth of her two children and she was always ready to encourage her husband as he worked long hours to provide for their family and supported his faithfulness in ministry. Elect Lady Rookard returned to the work force in 1974 and God rewarded her with employment where she was noted for her good work ethics, godly lifestyle, her love for her family and church. She worked until 1998 when she resigned to assist her husband full time in ministry to the church after he was installed as Pastor to Greater Bible way Tabernacle Miracle Temple. She has proven herself faithful throughout her life, not thinking of herself, but seeking ways to help make someone else's situation bearable. Elect Lady Rookard says, "my mandate from God is to counsel and teach the young women, to encourage others hurting spiritually, mentally, physically and emotionally through the leading of the Holy Ghost." She is a women of constant prayer and always seeking to do the will of God.
Her lifetime willingness to help in church ministry has enabled her to use her leadership gifts as: church secretary, Sunday School teacher, choir director, leader/president for the youth department, womens' ministry president, coordinator of church events, church administrator, advisor of the secretarial staff, Diocesan Mother and First Lady of the Palmetto State Diocese. Lady Rookard is still working just as faithfully as she did at the beginning, never seeking recognition or compensation. Excellence without excuse," is her goal when it comes to doing kingdom work for God and this mentality is taught to others as they work beside her at Greater Bible Way Tabernacle Miracle Temple. Her children arise up and call her blessed, her husband also and he praiseth her. Elect Lady Gerri Rookard is the epitome of a virtuous women referred to in Proverbs 31:10.
Elect Lady Gerri Rookard is never so busy that she cannot find time to be with her 5 grandchildren whom she loves and adore. She enjoys teaching them about the love of God and His plans for their future. Together, Apostle and Lady Rookard often reflect on Psalms 71:18:
"Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation and Thy power to everyone that is to come."
